Oral cancers are on the rise among people ages 20 to 40 which is believed because of HPV spread through oral sex.1

Our office includes an Oral Cancer exam as part of a regular preventive exam. Our trained staff looks for changes in the mouth like sores or blisters on the cheeks, tongue, or lips.

In between regular dental exams, if you are at higher risk for oral cancer because of risky behavior or habits, notify a dental professional immediately if you notice oral tissue changes.

Time - it's a precious commodity to be valued.

1

The office makes a commitment to see a patient at a specific time and do our best to keep our word and be on schedule. Our offices reinforces this commitment by placing courtesy confirmation phone calls/email and if time allows, mailing reminder cards to the scheduled patient.

Dr. Beasley does not charge for failed appointments as it creates ill-will. It is important for patients to respect the time we set aside for dental needs and preventive care.

Life happens and unexpected obstacles [at times] make it impossible to keep a prescheduled appointment. We respectfully ask for a cancellation phone call as soon as you [the patient] is aware the appointment time is no longer convenient.

Office Guidelines on After School/Late Afternoon Appointments

We try hard to make convenient appointments accessible to every patient. We understand patients drive long distances for appointments. Most patients [or parents] work full time. Many have school and after school obligations. All of these factors are taken into consideration when scheduling an appointment. Dental treatment is a commitment which will take time from your schedule and life. With any commitment, time has to be allowed.

It is impossible for all patients to have all late or after school appointments.

You can be of help to all of us and all patients by planning ahead.

  • Be flexible.
  • Check which class can be missed to least effect your grade point average.
  • Schedule during your lunch time off.

Thank you!
